If you want sunshine on your city hotel break then go for one of the southern cities such as Rome, Naples, Madrid, Seville, Malaga or Athens. For hotels in more temperate climes head to Edinburgh, Copenhagen, Hamburg, or Helsinki. And in winter, book a hotel in the snow and have a magical fairytale experience in Salzburg, Prague, Vienna or Stockholm. Even if the snow fails to arrive there are fabulous Christmas markets to visit.
